Hi! I'm Simon van Noort.

I'm currently writing my thesis in the Database Architectures research group at the CWI. I'm pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit. I have prior degrees in software engineering and business administration. Previously, I've worked as a software intern at Google and Datadog, and prior to that as a software engineer at crypto on-ramp aggregator Onramper. My interests include databases, distributed systems, and automation. In my spare time I work on software projects, like my JetBrains IDE plugin called Toggler, and I enjoy reading, bouldering, and fitness.
